I’m a a digital content specialist based in Hamilton, Ontario.
Currently, I’m Sun Media’s digital content director, overseeing the company’s Toronto-based national online editorial team, which provides digital content, support and strategic direction for more than 120 local newsrooms.
Previously, I held the position of national community manager for Sun Media’s English language properties, which included social media strategy and training, commenting platform and user-generated content.
My responsibilities included rolling out major online initiatives across the company, including live-blogging platform ScribbleLive; Training community newsroom staff how to optimize social media to better target audiences, get the most engagement online, tell click-worthy stories, use SEO-friendly headlines and package content online to entice users to stay on news websites longer.
A graduate of Ryerson University’s journalism program, I’ve worked as a reporter and city editor at several newspapers across Ontario including the St. Catharines Standard, London Free Press, Orillia Packet & Times and the Simcoe Reformer. I’ve covered everything from local politics to police to business.
